    In New York State the recommended amount of insulation in attics is a R49 . All new construction requires it . Homeowners do not have to have a R49 . Any insulation added will provide an upgrade , but the thicker , the better .

    $2.5 per sq ft for R49

    18” : $2500 (for a 1000sq ft attic)

    $1.7 per sq ft of R38

    13” : $ 1700 (for a 1000sq ft attic)

    $1.3 per sq ft of R19

    7” : $1300 (for a 1000sq ft attic)

    Example : if a customer wanted to upgrade their attic to a R49 ( 18”thick ) and their attic was 1000 sq ft … The total cost would be $2500 .

    Note : the 25% off discount is for the R49 package only .
